I am leading a committee united by a vision to renew the ambitious, collaborative spirit of the ACS. This means building a calendar of memorable events and pouring into the areas where our communities at Oxford and beyond need us most. Whether by widening access to Oxford for the next generation of talented African and Caribbean students, creating meaningful careers opportunities, or strengthening welfare initiatives, I hope to leave behind a society that is proud of where we come from, flourishing where we are, and fearless about where we are going.

As Vice President, I work closely with the President and the executive committee to oversee the activities of the society. My role encompasses organisation, outreach and generally supporting each team of the committee so our ACS can continue to shine! I look forward to representing the African and Caribbean community in it's best light over the next academic year!

The treasurer is responsible for managing the society’s finances through organising the termly budgets and overseeing our accounts. In this way, my work is pivotal to ensuring the ACS has the capacity to deliver on events and initiatives for our current and prospective members!

The secretary supports the running of ACS by ensuring it adheres to key documents such as the Constitution; maintaining an up-to-date record of society information; assisting with internal and external communication; and supporting the wider committee. The secretary is also responsible for managing the ACS newsletter and organising the African and Caribbean Literature event.

Our Access and Outreach team empowers and supports prospective students from African and Caribbean backgrounds in applying to institutions like Oxford. By connecting current and future members of the ACS, they highlight how we as a society strive to serve a greater community and support both current and future students from these backgrounds.

Welfare Officers
Academic and social life at Oxford can be at times difficult, with added pressures that come with coming from a black or ethnic minority background. The welfare team is the support system of our society, offering endless help, advice, and support to our members to ensure nobody has to endure these pressures alone. Part of this involves welfare events designed to allow members to relax, feel seen, and connect with each other on meaningful levels.

Our Tech Officer is responsible for the maintenance of this website and the overseer of the software and platforms we use in our work! I am the first point of call for members who are having technical difficulties with things like accessing the ACS members portal.
Sports Officers
As Sports Officers, we organise sports events, training, and casual sessions for anyone (beginner to competitive) looking to get involved in physical activity. These include sports such as football, netball, and basketball. We will lead weekly opportunities to play these and also organise the Varsity match with Cambridge and Sports Day!
